• Joey is a native of Ozark, Missouri.
  • Graduated salutatorian and as a 13-year senior from Ozark High School in 1996.
  • Attended (then) Southwest Missouri State University.
  • Married fellow Ozark graduate, Jenny, in 2001. The couple currently resides in Ozark, where their three children are enrolled in Ozark public schools.
  • Became a full-time stay-at-home father in 2009.
  • Had first novel, Crowe, published in 2011.
  • Once youngest child entered kindergarten in the fall of 2014, began volunteering in his children’s schools and throughout the community.
  • Volunteer with the Ozark chapter of Care to Learn since 2014. Currently assisting with warehouse operations, website, and social media campaigns.
  • Member of the Christian County Library Foundation Board of Directors since 2015. Serving as Vice President since 2016. Built and maintains the Foundations online and social media presence.
  • Served with Ozark Education First, the campaign committee which successfully supported the passage of the Ozark Schools bond issue on the April 2015 ballot. Managed the organization’s online footprint, in addition to door-to-door campaigning.
  • Contributor to GeekDad.com since 2015. Co-presented the GeekDad panel at the 2017 Planet Comicon.
  • Co-chaired Ozark North Elementary Watch DOGS for the 2016-17 school year. Serving as chairman for the 2017-18 school year.
  • Member of the 2016 premier class of Ozark Leads, a joint program between the Ozark Chamber of Commerce, Ozark Schools, and the City of Ozark.
  • Served as the Ozark United Methodist Church Outreach Ministry Director since 2017.
  • Unsuccessfully ran for the Ozark Schools Board of Education in April 2017.
  • Serving as treasurer of Hometown Library, the campaign committee supporting the reinstatement of the 20-cent library levy on the August 2017 ballot.
  • Currently involved in reinstating Ozark’s Main Street program, designed to improve Ozark’s Historic Downtown district.
  • While not a member, served CCCC Sertoma by updating and managing the organization’s 2017 Duck Race website.

When not serving the community or performing his stay-at-home father duties, Joey enjoys reading, writing, streaming jazz, and engaging in family-friendly entertainment like watching TV and playing both tabletop games and video game with family and friends.
